Met up wif xin hui n chris ytd before she leaves for Germany this Sunday for 3 weeks of immersion....envy her sia............bunked over at chris's house and OMG u shud see his dad's home theater system lar........! Plus all the original dvds and helicopters (dat flies) and tank models etc etc.............his dad totally noes how to enjoy life can.........
Meeting kah sing ltr and believe it or not..........it's another buffet dinner..........thruout the entire hols (plus a bit of sem 2) whenever i meet him rite, IT'S DEFINITELY BUFFET DINNER ONE LEH! OH! Btw my results are out..........A A- B- B-.............not bad lar 1st time get A's sia.......at least i get to retain my scholarship and dat's all i care rite nw......apart frm dat results really mean very little to me nowadays........

Ok so met up with Kah Sing, Arvin and Aga last Saturday and we had dinner at Vibe, which is in a hotel at Orchard Road........can't remember what hotel it was......and for the 1st time i finally tasted fresh oysters! It was better than i had imagined, especially the texture cos it was jelly-like and add that with a little lemon, u get a slight taste of heaven! :)
The buffet was expensive as usual (well, we WERE at orchard road afterall.......) but it was quite satisfying, plus most importantly the company was great! I like the feeling of just chatting all sorts of stuff wif ur frens........we noe we're not exactly chatting IMPORTANT issues (since when is "Do u mind ur partner not being a virgin?" important...? o.O ) but hey dat's the whole point when u're with frens like dat right!? :) :) :)
Meeting Rachel and Chris today before the deflated teddy leaves for work next week onwards.........and therefore i am stuck in the library again........but i'm not complaining much cos there's a very cold air-con over here plus good internet access........!
Soon holiday comm's gonna start........better try to meet up with all my frens before then. I'll sms u soon bih guok!! :P

Holiday still come bck library.........i wanted to go starbucks and use the internet for the whole day be4 i meet up with kah sing for dinner one but dunno y today the buses at the custom were SOOOOOOOOOOOO slow n few...........den mrt also slow............n i had to stop by my specs shop at clementi to ask them to replace my frame which SNAPPED when i just got it done 2 months ago! So in the end it was already 12 and for sure lar today weekend starbucks ANYWHERE confirm full one lor! Sienz................. so the best place to get a plug point, wireless plus aircond is NUS liao..........plus i was at clementi anyway................

OH. MY. GOD.
I have been binging for the past few days............god noes how much i've spent on food alone.......i've been dining out almost everyday ever since my exams ended can...........
We went out to Holland V (with Chris and Rachel) on Sunday night and headed to Crystal Jade for dinner..........and coincidentally we sat at the same table as the one when we came last time with xin hui. I was really really hungry cos i din eat breakfast nor lunch so i decided to order 2 dishes.........and in the end it was porridge and wanton mee (dry). They were fantastic (as usual) though i didn't really like the wanton mee's soup...........the smell a bit too strong plus it wasn't as sweet as i wanted it to be....... Plus we ordered a veg as well........it was sum veg with 3 different eggs in it..........with a bit of soup and it was rather nice, probably because i like all 3 eggs (normal egg, century egg as well as salted egg). I was the only one who had dessert there and i ordered this red bean paste thingy with lotus seeds but it turned out more like red bean soup rather than paste.........i wanted to eat orh ni (yam paste) but they din have it.........after dat it was STILL dessert time so we went to Cold Rock for ice cream.........chose ferraro and tiramisu with dark-pitted cherries and marshmallows as toppings........and they mashed them up together.........AND I TELL U, IT WAS FANTASTIC! Surprisingly the 2 flavours complemented each other very well and the marshmallows became slightly frozen when mixed with the ice cream which gave it a very very nice texture! Plus the dark pitted cherries were nothing like the normal syrup cherries u see on cakes and stuff (which i HATE a lot....) THEY WERE SO GOOD! Blissful................but obviously it comes with a price..........and not a cheap one too........damn why is good food always so expensive....especially dessert................
Then Monday was supposed to be another lunch outing with Chris and xin hui (she had her last paper on monday morning...) Was supposed to go for Jap food buffet at Hanabi but cos they wanted to save money so decided to find sumwhere else (even though we ended up spending more........stupid lar.......) In the end we drove to Suntec and stupidly settled for this Jap teppanyaki restaurant...........me n xinhui ardered the special set which cost us a whooping $26.......!! But it was supposed to have beef, fish, squid, prawns n oysters so we thought it was ok..........Chris ordered the cod fish set........in the end they told us they ran out of oysters and would substitute it with prawns, and when our set came it wasn't as big as i thought. It merely resembled a huge pile of mess on the plate.......they did give loads of vegetables though........Chris's cod fish was pathetically small and it still cost him $19....................what the fuck............waste money.............cud have eaten Jap food buffet for that price lar!
We left the restaurant w/o feeling very satisfied........and i was pissed cos i wasn't full AT ALL...........so we bot pretzels at Aunt Anne's, and as usual i bot my sour cream one........Chris got the cinnamon sugar one which was supposedly very good.......i tried a bit but din quite like it........
THEN we went to Ben and Jerry's for more ice cream! Cost us another 14 bucks but what the heck it's Ben and Jerry's............
THEN we went to buy bubbletea...........and me n xinhui as usual got the passion fruit red tea........if not that flavour most prob i wud have gotten the peach one.........always the same old same old............plus i went to buy the XXL Chicken Chop with extra chilli powder from the Taiwan Xiao Chi and LOVED IT..........! i really ate damn a lot rite...? But dat's not all........i bot 6 doughnuts frm donut factory sumore................dat's why the 2 of them called me Monster Monster, or simply Monster Square..................cos i eat damn a lot...........
Den today actually supposed to go Sim Lim with xinhui cos both of us wanted to buy external hard disc (i initially spelt it as "external hard dick"..............) but both of us overslept..........but she smsed me when she was coming bck to hall asking me whether i still want to go or not.........since i wasn't doing anything we went in the end.........i bot another Fables n Lucifer graphic novels from kinokuniya before we left for SL but in the end none of us bot the external hard disk cos we didn't noe which brand is good and what price is justifiable......we're just tech noobs...........went to Border's cos she wanted to buy sum German stuff to brush up her language before she leaves for her immersion in another month's time......den we bot starbucks before coming back.......
And that's about it..........going back tomorrow............finally, after such a long time...........but packing all my stuff up is really giving me a headache...........

His posts make sense (as usual) and he doesn't sound as bitter in his entries as the media likes to portray him as of lately, probably because almost 100% of the press in Malaysia is either state-owned or owned by people affiliated with the ruling party/government (facts acquired after attending a talk by Steven Gan, the founder of malaysiakini). And the many comments left behind by readers make so much sense too.
Wave keris some more lar...........wave untill all the people's support evaporate into thin air........stop talking about your god-given rights being taken away when i don't see the orang-asli being given even the most basic health care and education opportunities.........you take their lands away too don't you.......and aren't they the people originally from our country?
50 years later and we're still stuck here..........is it really that hard to get past all that differences? Why can't even rights be given to everyone and let the issue die down once and for all? What, just what makes you think you "deserve" more rights and privileges than the rest of the population? Do you pay more taxes? Do you do more work?
The system and the culture is causing the country to stagnant beyond redemption.......let this go on for a little more while and soon it's gonna be almost impossible to make amends.......we're already behind countries like Singapore, Taiwan and Korea........who else do you want us to fall behind of?
I hope this is a good start for the opposition, but i certainly hope they don't end up following the BN's example once they're in power, cos power can really change a lot of things, especially when most of the time power means money.........

I'm hungry.................
My last paper has thus ended.......and so 1 year of hall life at TH is coming to an end.........though there's still holiday committees coming up pretty soon and before you know it the orientation for next year's freshies would have begun and following right behind it would be a new semester, but still, I'm officially done with my 1st year of uni life.
I don't really know whether i've benefitted from this one year of new experiences, but I do know i've made plenty of valuable friends, almost 90% of them from hall(s). Great people, great friendships! I also do know that even if i didn't enjoy my engineering modules, at least i did myself a favour by taking up French for 2 semesters because i thoroughly enjoyed it to the core! Classes were fun, the atmosphere relaxing, and the lecturers and tutors passionate and helpful.
It makes sense to wanna look back and see what i've been involved throughout this 1 whole year as a uni freshie......and then decide whether or not i've actually gained more or lost more (not including my weight....) And then maybe plan from there.....so that i don't repeat things that i didn't quite enjoy........
I can still remember signing up for Union Camp........and being as apprehensive as hell on the 1st day cos there were so many people! Plus the fact that there were many "fit" people while i kinda stand out as being "chubby" (ya i noe.........it's a euphemism......i have my pride u noe.........) Many people complained about Union Camp after it ended, councilors included cos they were saying it wasn't as good as before, especially if you compare it with Sports Camp which was supposedly one of the best FOCs available.... But I guess our OG was pretty on and enthusiastic..... And I still remain in contact with a few of them, so all's not lost.

Well after that it was Hall Camp.........and i must say it was pretty amazing. It's kinda troublesome to go into great details but let's just say the whole experience would probably stick with me for the rest of my life. And as usual i met loads of great people, freshies and seniors alike, through the whole process.
It's sad that there are some who will not be staying for their 2nd year......but then i guess if you make an effort to meet up things can probably remain the same, or can they.........?
Joined many committees in hall, partly to force myself to be a little bit more active outside of my studies, partly to get to know more people, partly to earn points so that i can stay on for the 2nd year. Welfare, Video Productions Unit, Block Comm, Insights, Interim Committees and even a sport or two. Certainly not everything was smooth sailing, and there are times you ask yourself why in the very 1st place did you subject yourself to so much shit, but at the end of it you take away so much more than you can imagine......
At the same time, while being so preoccupied with hall affairs, i didn't really forget about all that great personalities who opened up my eyes during my JC years........ 1105 is sorta like family already........a real big part of my life, especially when my "real" family is across the causeway and i dun travel back that often. Meeting them, whether it's outside or when they actually come to hall, never fails to lighten up my mood, and then everything seems to be alright again.
Not forgetting school life itself.........which wasn't really as enjoyable or as easy as i thought it would be........the emphasis on the exams are still as fucked up as usual (how i wish i was in a uni abroad right now.......), and the subjects i'm taking are still as bland and dull as the hall food i'm eating.......... But there's always some silver lining somewhere, and for me it has to be my wonderful French class(es) for the whole year. From learning to say "Bonjour" to "Comment allez-vous", from present tense to past and future tenses, from trying to avoid speaking up in class to enjoying doing it and making everyone laugh, it was basically the highlight of my entire Year 1 in NUS.........!
It's a pity i wun be going on the immersion trip this time round, but then i swear to myself that i will set foot on Europe this time next year, regardless of whether it's gonna be a backpacking trip, work-and-travel, holiday trip with friends or the actual immersion programme. Money obviously comes into the picture, but heck money is sth i wanna have right now too. So i'm gonna make "making money" as my number 1 priority this holidays! $.$
I dun really see any holiday trips coming up for me this holidays, which is quite sad actually since it's gonna be quite a long one, but with all the friends around, especially those i haven seen for some time in JB, there's gonna be loads of catching up to do, plus my money-making ambitions lol.............
This time round, we're gonna make it.
I don't really know whether i've benefitted from this one year of new experiences, but I do know i've made plenty of valuable friends, almost 90% of them from hall(s). Great people, great friendships! I also do know that even if i didn't enjoy my engineering modules, at least i did myself a favour by taking up French for 2 semesters because i thoroughly enjoyed it to the core! Classes were fun, the atmosphere relaxing, and the lecturers and tutors passionate and helpful.
It makes sense to wanna look back and see what i've been involved throughout this 1 whole year as a uni freshie......and then decide whether or not i've actually gained more or lost more (not including my weight....) And then maybe plan from there.....so that i don't repeat things that i didn't quite enjoy........
I can still remember signing up for Union Camp........and being as apprehensive as hell on the 1st day cos there were so many people! Plus the fact that there were many "fit" people while i kinda stand out as being "chubby" (ya i noe.........it's a euphemism......i have my pride u noe.........) Many people complained about Union Camp after it ended, councilors included cos they were saying it wasn't as good as before, especially if you compare it with Sports Camp which was supposedly one of the best FOCs available.... But I guess our OG was pretty on and enthusiastic..... And I still remain in contact with a few of them, so all's not lost.
Sorry bout the pictures' sizes though......kinda small............Well after that it was Hall Camp.........and i must say it was pretty amazing. It's kinda troublesome to go into great details but let's just say the whole experience would probably stick with me for the rest of my life. And as usual i met loads of great people, freshies and seniors alike, through the whole process.
It's sad that there are some who will not be staying for their 2nd year......but then i guess if you make an effort to meet up things can probably remain the same, or can they.........?
Joined many committees in hall, partly to force myself to be a little bit more active outside of my studies, partly to get to know more people, partly to earn points so that i can stay on for the 2nd year. Welfare, Video Productions Unit, Block Comm, Insights, Interim Committees and even a sport or two. Certainly not everything was smooth sailing, and there are times you ask yourself why in the very 1st place did you subject yourself to so much shit, but at the end of it you take away so much more than you can imagine......
