My long-awaited Jap dinner.................was suppose to have it as brotherhood outing but since Arvin and Mathias both can't make it, it was supposed to be canceled...........but i was feeling bored cos din go back for Qing Ming.........and originally wanted to buy a new pair of slippers..........so smsed Kah Sing ask him go buy with me..........and he wanted to eat dinner too so in the end booked 2 places at Hanabi Japanese Restaurant and Sake Bar at Odean Towers, which is near City Hall there.........
But cos Kah Sing had sth to do before hand and i was doing my tutorials so went late and din manage to do any shopping............went straight to the restaurant and started our journey lol..........it's an ala carte japanese restaurant so there's this big menu with rows and rows of food items which you can order..............things like sashimi (salmon, tuna, yellowtail, sea bream, octopus, cuttlefish and salmon belly), sushi (all sorts.....like salmon, salmon skin, soft shell crab with avocado, unagi, ebi etc etc), tepanyaki, tempura, grilled items (like yaki tori etc etc), soup, soba, rice, and other popular items like stir fried beef, pork, baby octupus, jellyfish (my fav) and many many more..........!
So we ordered...................

Edamame (Green Soy Bean)
There's this japanese name for it but i can't remember.....it's basically just a fish with its roe stuffed full inside it and grilled........very nice texture and subtle flavour.......

Unagi and rice........loved it
Stir fried pork belly.......may not look like much from here but trust me it's pretty heavenly......
Stir fried beef (in sum sauce....wad's the name.....sounds like "tapan" or sth liddat....) Again heavenly as well..........!
Chawanmushi........tis is one jap dish i'll never miss in a jap restaurant for one reason or another.......
Jellyfish!!! My fav!!! I had 3 plates of this!
Sushi.........assorted flavours....... :)
Sashimi! Too bad i forgot to take a pic of the mixed platter one.....the octopus sashimi and the cuttlefish were pure heaven......!

I can't do without pickled ginger when it comes to sashimi......cos i absolutely hate the artificial taste of wasabi.........

Well, that's about it..............we ate till we almost burst our bellies but this time round i swear i din overeat cos was watching my weight...........luckily i went jogging ytd nite.......plus i'm going again tmr morning............but all in all it was quite a good jap restaurant with quality food..........at least it was better than kuishimbo and the best part of it is that it's cheaper than kuishimbo too..........S$33 for the buffet dinner.........add 17% for the taxes and u will end up with sth like S$38 bucks.........not too bad lar for a dinner of this quality.............
Ok the weather's absolutely horrible.............one moment it's fucking hot and the next moment it's pouring cats and dogs ( i always wonder why it must be cats and dogs..........why cannot carrots and oranges.............or kuey chap and char kuey tiao.............) and before you know it, you're perspiring like nobody's business again.............. -.-
Can't wait for the next chance to say TGIF man............
