Karaoke session with Yuziang, Kian Siong and Xin Hui at Katong before an immensely satisfying dinner at Ajisen Ramen at Parkway Parade.... It has gotta be aeons since I've last been to PP......and surprisingly things haven really changed much. The best thing that happened to PP is that now they have Borders lol....
Sunday was spent entirely at the Zoo...! My 6th visit to the Spore Zoo, in fact. It was fun, spent with the 9th Tech Crew juniors, though the weather was hot as usual.
Extracted 3 teeth ytd....and surprisingly, it was so much more less painful than I imagined it to be... The dentist was prodding around with the needle initially cos he was finding it a hard time getting the anaesthetic intot he correct places... It felt like a series of pricks that hurt jus a little but I wasn't really bothered about that cos I absolutely wanted him to get a smuch anaesthetic in as possible to ensure that I wun feel much later on. Ohhh he did get an xray done prior to the "surgery" and i was finally able to see just what the problem was...
Anyway, after that it was a whole series of drilling (I was wondering wad wud happen if he slipped and the drill went towards my lips instead.....o.O), jerking, plucking, heaving, and twisting while the nurses constantly suck out the saliva and blood.... Seriously, I felt only a bit of discomfort... I did whine a little at the beginning cos I didn't really noe to what extent did he mean by pain when he was asking me "Do you feel any pain?"....... But then later on I realised it was more of numbness and pressure rather than pain, so with my eyes shut tight, hands firmly pulling on my shorts, and 15 minutes later, voila! The blocking tooth was drilled into 4 pieces and extracted while the wisdom tooth took slightly less time to be taken out.
Next was the one on top. I did both bottom and top on the left first since those were bothering me the most... The top one was super fast. He just injected the anaesthetic, left it to work its magic for a few minutes, then with a firm grip and a quick twist, it was out in less than 20 seconds...! Super duper fast... He then proceeded to stitch up my lower gum and then it was over...
The troublesome part about extracting wisdom tooth is always the aftermath..... Cos that's when the pain starts kicking in when the painkillers and anaesthecia wears off... And the constant bleeding that wun seem to stop and the annoying numbness.... The swelling only kicks in the next day, but that's where the pills come into the picture. Antibiotics, painkillers and an additional one for the swelling.... You can't really notice the swelling from the outside (or probably because my face is already "puffy" to begin with) but the swelling is EXTREMELY OBVIOUS when I looked at the mirror and opened my mouth. It's like the entire gum on the elft side of the cheek is one huge mass of.......gum. Super huge...
Anyway, haven been eating much, so I'm freaking hungry right now......
