Christmas Party at Arvin's!

Me, Arvin (duh...), Matt, Kah SIng (aka the asshole), Aga, Kiki, Jason, Johnny and Pei Xun! Oh oh oh I forgot Serena hahahaha! Cheeks as chubby as ever! Eek wait it should be "as puffy as ever"! :)

Nice to be meeting the class again. Haven had such a gathering for quite sum time, though ya as usual there were just the same old peeps ard.....but well sum of them cudn't make it cos they either had work or already had other appointment.

Food was catered and they were decent, but I think almost everyone forgot to pay Arvin hahahahahahahaha! Taboo was on first since there were only me, kiks, Johnny, Jason, Matt and Arvin ard. Arvin lost terribly.......and he accumulated 3 forfeits in a row hahahahahahahaha! In the end he had to wear his spiderman underwear outside of his shorts and buy tau huey :P

Mahjong later and after that it was home sweet home......actually it's hall lar.....

See the cute Spiderman?? :)

With the girls :)

Arvin telling us just exactly where the hand break in his bloody mercedes is located....lol it was a peddle near the bottom left i think....

Haih what will we do without Arvin in our class.....?

:)

Taboo......which really isn't easy actually lol....

Lol the brotherhood! Finally after so long........ :) :) :)

Me keeping score this round

Liz At The Top Of The World. Have you heard it? Does it make you feel like you're on top of the world as well? Or does it make you think that somehow somewhere, something just isn't complete......

Christmas Eve at Arvin's!

Totally impromptu lol...............

Pasta dinner with prawns and eggs at the side...........not bad for 4 peeps who did it so last minute huh? :P

Ohhhhhhhhhh....and did i mention that Taboo is soooooooo much fun???

Arvin's omelet.......which seriously look more like scrambled eggs than anything else...still it was pretty yummy :)

Note the bloody alchoholic WITH the bottle in his hand....

Ahhhhhhhhhh what can i say....i was starving.....

Jeremy, Arvin, Aga, Me and the Alchoholic ahahahahahahaha! :) :) :)

Christmas morning was just plain old boring....was finishing the exporting of a video in the editing room......nearly died without breakfast......lunch was a quickie at Clementi on my way back to JB.........had steamboat dinner with the family before heading out at 10pm to pick up Foo and meet up with BG and Yek Wei at City Plaza for a beer.......then went off for a nice plate of Hokkien Prawn Mee to finish off the night! :)

Life's good.

And I thought it was gonna be a boring Christmas Eve since I had to do some video capturing in the editing roon all alone in hall..........

and then Kah Sing called!

And it was off to Kovan mrt to meet him and Aga, though that bugger who was supposed to meet me at 6 turned up at 7 instead.......but who carez about him? Me Aga and Arvin went off hunting for the ingredients for dinner, which we cooked ourselves at Arvin's house later! There were prawns from their prawning trip the previous day, and we bot pasta, ham, mushrooms, white wine, cheese, i bot a green capsicum which both ks and arvin REFUSED to add into the pasta sauce.....and also snacks which Aga tot was important IN CASE our dinner (cooked by "masterchef" ks) turned out to be inedible......

So all in all there were prawns in white wine with orange zest, pasta in red and white sauce with ham and fresh button mushrooms, and lastly Arvin's specialty...............egg omelete, which actually turned out to look more like scrambled eggs than omelete lar.....

Nice dinner! :)

And I thought I had to eat alone lol...........

Mahjong and Taboo later on (which Jeremy joined as well) and it was a fun-filled night.

Happy :)

It's really sudden this time.......

He was my former room mate while I was staying in Dunman Highschool Hostel....when I was in JC......though he was a junior, he treated us as if we were equals, and it's an easy start from then on to get to know him better......he was funny and yet serious, joking in his manner and yet sincere in his ways.....he was a good room mate and great friend to have......

I admit I didn't contact him much after I graduated and moved on to uni.....but I did talk to him once on msn (or gmail...I can't remember) after he finished his A lvls.......the conversation was mainly abt how life was gonna be in Uni.......and I even asked him whether he was gonna stay in hall and told him to pick TH......but that was the last time I spoke to him.....

I didn't know he was in the states....nor did I know he was aspiring to be a pilot....but apparently sth went wrong.......I don't know much about the details...and whether or not his body has been found is also vague to me (though his gf mentioned on facebook that his body has been found)......but they're presuming that he's dead...

Well, like what she said, he died doing the one thing he loved in his life - flying. Not a bad way to die, doing what you love, considering that there's so many other ways we cud end up with our lives gone..........

Rest in peace Sanstav..........I wun forget you.

It's kinda scary.......to be hit by sth so suddenly.....no warnings...no signs....and then wham! And it's done....

When I start thinking back...it kinda seems to me that I've been running away from responsibilities all my life....probably because so many things were always taken care of for me on their own (or by someone else)......but then all of a sudden they're coming from everywhere.....

I've always tot that at least familial responsibilities wudn't hit me for some time to come, since I'm the youngest in the family anyway...especially when both brothers are now at home as well.......if anything needs to be done, someone needs to take charge, there's my dad, my mum, then jeff, then jason.....and finally me........but then things dun seem to run the way u imagine it to be......

I will admit.....i'm not made for responsibles.....i suck at them.....but then somehow being "resposibleless" is sth that only exists when you're still in secondary sch.....or maybe jc......after that, you dun get such a deal anymore......

I wanna be responsible....but i hate the burden that comes with it....i dun like that feeling....but then......

Kian Yew, Kevin and Steve came over to JB yesterday noon for some fun since everyone's exams were over (except poor Ming Jun lol....) Luckily my mum didn't need the car so told them to take a taxi to my house since firstly, I didn't noe how to describe the place I normally wait for my parents to pick me up and secondly, my house is so damn near........

Took them to Bamboo for lunch cos it was on the way to Permas Jaya anyway.......and I thought heck so many Singaporeans like to go there must be for a reason right...?! Turns out the food ok only lar......Should have brought them to Ah Seng there......cheaper and faster too...........

They wanted to go Go-Karting, which is at Permas Jaya.....never been there before though I've sent my eldest bro there once.........turns out they moved when we reached!! Thought they closed down already until I spotted a small little sighboard at the side of the road giving instructions to their new location but it was 9km away!!! And we had to traverse throught an oil palm plantation with untarred road filled with pot holes, gravel, COWS, oil palm fruits and god knows what to reach there!!! I wanted to turn back halfway lar but the bloody road so small no place to make U-Turn also.....tot we kena conned lar then when we arrive there will be an army of parang-wielders kidnapping us and stealing my car....................lol how imaginative I am sia.....

In the end, after some torturous driving (I think i was driving at like 30 or 40km/h cos of the road condition....or else the car's suspension sure gone liao......) we finally arrived at the Go-Kart circuit.......AND IT REALLY IS IN THE MIDDLE OF A BLOODY OIL PALM PLANTATION WITH ONE AND ONLY ONE ENTRANCE AND EXIT!!! Cos we were speculating in the car that there has to be another entrance or exit somewhere inside other than the one we were using.....but turns out, it was all our wishful thinking........

But I gotta say, the Go-Karting experience was AWESOME! Stay in JB so freaking long liao din even noe the BEST Go-Kart Circuit was in JB lar.........!!! The one in Genting's like a baby's version compared to this.......the circuit is so much bigger, with sloped terrain, lots of challenging turns and the bloody Go-Kart goes so much MUCH more faster!!! And it feels so much exhillarating like that cos there's not much protection in a Go-KArt unlike a car where you're surounded by metal....so when you really speed things up it gets so much more fun!! Especially when you're on the verge of "accidentally" drifting when you sweep a corner cos if you really "buang" then you're gone hahahahaha cos it's more of like you're wrapping the vehicle with your flesh and bone rather than the other way round!

The price was RM30 for a 10 minute cycle. And apparently the price hasn't changed after all these years according to Kevin who was at his 4th visit.........See lar Singaporean also come 4th time liao and me born and bred in JB din even noe this much fun existed so near my doorstep (if I was still still staying in my old house).

We went twice cos after the first run we just couldn't stop! It was damn fun lar but I always end up as the last one cos I can't really sweep the corners like them since I am so "heavy".....bo bian have to break a little instead of just letting go of the acceleration when I'm reaching the corners or else sure buang.........I slided at one of the corners in the first run and nearly lost control of the bloody car after that hahahahaha! Kevin even worst he went too fast at one of the corners and the whole car spinned several rounds onto the grass eventually i think lol.............

That's one of the pro's.....cos they are having a race on Sunday so he was test driving I think....he went REALLY fast........even at the corners..........

Kevin sleeping on the way back......he said he wanted to Bi Mu Yang Shen.....

For Kian Yew, I'm saying he's just plain sleeping lar......

I came back with them to Singapore in the evening cos still have some last few committee stuff to handle..........the A3 peeps were having a dinner outing that night too and I tagged along since I go to A3 so often anyway and I know most of them as well........lol the odd one out can everyone either from A3 or from block A in general....I was the only one from Block E lor hahahaha......

We went to Holland V's Crystal Jade La Mian and Xiao Long Bao restaurant. They've already made a reservation or else Friday night sure don't need to enter one......cos their Steamboat and Xiao Long Bao (freeflow) buffet is damn famous and everyone wants to eat FREEFLOW OF XIAO LONG BAO!!!

All in all there were 12 of us........Kevin, Ming Jun, Kian Yew, Steve, Dominic, Me, Pavel, Jie Ren, Teshil, Ashwin, Germaine and Qian Wen. But it was a mistake to have 12 people share 1 bloody steamboat pot man............they freaking ordered and ordered AND ORDERED until we had so much food that we couldn't finish.............the whole pot of soup was filled with meat, fishballs, mushrooms and god knows what else and we just stared at it in disgust cos none of us could take another bite......and they ordered so MUCH of mutton and dumped EVERYTHING into the soup to cook......the soup eventually smelt so strongly of the odour of the meat.....chinese calls it "Yang Sao Wei".............Ashwin picked up a piece of mutton and smelt it and said "Wah it smells like TOILET lar!!!"...................Can you blame us for not having any appetite to force-feed ourselves the remainder of the pot.....???

But the Xiao Long Bao was damn nice that's for sure...............and the beginning of the steamboat buffet was equally enjoyable...........cos the meat and everything else is also free-flow (a bit like the last time when we went for the Tian Tian Huo Guo thingy at Bugis with 11/05) and everything was very fresh..........especially the prawns!!! Which unfortunately wasn't free-flow.........but that was the only thing that wasn't............and frankly with the number of items available on the menu you wouldn't pay too much attention to just the pranws anyway.....

Lol but the whole dinner was damn funny..........so many things to laugh about......like how our 2 soup steamboat pot eventually merges into 1 single soup which flavour we could no longer discern........and the Mauritius way of eating Xiao Long Bao as demonstrated to us again and again by Teshil.........though everyone was cursing by the end of the buffet cos of over-eating, it was a nice experience all in all........... :)

Yup....even the ingredients are cooked half in this "soup" and half in the other....that shows you how united our 2-soup steamboat is......don't even know what flavour it is anymore......

XIAO LONG BAOS!!!

But I guess I'm staying away from steamboats for quite some time......

Paiseh if I dun call up anyone when I'm bck........cos if I'm only bck for a few days........and would most probably be lazing at home rather than heading out, especially right after my exams. Second thing is cos my phone bill always goes right off the roof due to roaming charges........so I try not to use my phone at all when I'm bck home and I'm too lazy to go n apply for a local line - prepaid or postpaid - cos i really dun come bck often.........

I need a haircut........not that i wanna cut my hair short again........but it badly needs professional trimming........cos it looks like wild grass growing out of control.............3 months going without hair cut can do that to you..........

I also need a new pair of slippers...........cos both pairs i have is totally "CHUI"....................

I need a new pair of berms too...........I only got 1 pair can............

And I tink i need a few shorts for beach-going...............afterall i'm not gonna wear jeans at Bali right......?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so many things................so little money..................and my whole holiday's schedule is fucked up with so many committee stuff.................

Next year, if i still stay in hall, i wanna be committmentless................dammit.............
